317L is a stainless steel used to weld austenitic base metal of similar composition types acid-resistant stainless such as those containing 18% Cr, 8% Ni, 2-3% Mo. 317L produces weld deposits which exhibit excellent resistant to corrosion that may be caused by organic and inorganic acids as well as oitting caused by chloride solutions
